SGO - Accepting Scholarship Applications
Scholarship Granting Organizations (SGOs) may begin accepting applications for scholarships as soon as they are approved to be an SGO by the Department. SGOs must begin granting scholarships no later than February 1, 2023, for the 2023-2024 school year. Scholarships granted to eligible students are made subject to the availability of funds.*
Scholarships are paid directly to the qualified school by the SGO on behalf of the student.
SGOs must allow an eligible student to attend any qualified school of the student’s choosing, subject to the availability of funds. Visit the Illinois State Board of Education’s website for more information and a list of qualified, non-public schools recognized by the Board.
