Reduced Walk-Up Window Service on Friday, September 4, and Saturday, September 5
The Illinois Department of Revenue walk-up windows at the following Secretary of State (SOS) facilities will operate at limited capacity from 11:00 AM on Friday, September 4, 2026, through the close of business on Saturday, September 5, 2026:
Chicago
- SOS North (5401 N Elston)
- SOS South (9901 S Martin Luther King Dr.)
Springfield
- SOS Flagship Office (2701 S. Dirksen Pkwy.)
During this time:
- Only check payments will be accepted; cash and credit card payments cannot be processed.
- No receipts will be issued.
- Employees will not be able to lookup taxpayer information.
