FY 2027-09, Motor Fuel Guidance for Reporting Dyed Diesel Fuel Sold During the Relief Period of October 6, 2026, through December 31, 2026

News – Wednesday, October 21, 2026

Illinois Executive Order 2026-08 authorized penalty relief for dyed diesel fuel sold for use on Illinois highways and roadways for farming and agricultural purposes during the relief period of October 6, 2026, through December 31, 2026.

This bulletin is issued to emphasize the instructions for sales and reporting of dyed diesel fuel to an end user other than a licensed Distributor. Selling, invoicing, and reporting instructions are important for dyed diesel fuel sold tax free during the relief period. This ensures that end users (purchasers) receive the necessary detailed documentation to prove eligibility for penalty relief.
