For persons considering a career at the Illinois Department of Revenue (IDOR), the following is a list of the job titles applicable to IDOR, separated by job type. Each listing shows the work area, job requirements, bargaining unit (if applicable), and salary range.

HUMAN RESOURCES TRAINEE (19694)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires completion of four years of high school supplemented by two years of office experience. Will require skill in keyboarding accurately at 30 Words Per Minute (WPM).

HUMAN RESOURCES ASSOCIATE (19691)
Bargaining Unit RC-014 Salary Range $3,954 – $5,482
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college or satisfactory completion of an approved training program. Will require skill in keyboarding accurately at 30 Words Per Minute (WPM).

HUMAN RESOURCES REPRESENTATIVE (19692)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Range $5,051 – $7,424
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college and one year of professional experience, preferably in human resources, or satisfactory completion of an approved training program.

PUBLIC SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR OPTION 1 (37015)
Merit Compensation Salary Range $7,660 – $11,810
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four years of college, preferably with courses in business or public administration.
Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative experience in a public or business organization.

REVENUE TAX SPECIALIST TRAINEE (38575)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Expectations $3,815 – $5,254
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires either a) Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college; OR b) Four years of work experience providing tax related support functions within a program area at the Illinois Department of Revenue. This is an Upward Mobility Program title.

REVENUE TAX SPECIALIST I (38571)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Range $4,110 – $5,761
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires successful completion of the Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee program, which entails 12 months of agency training, and either: a) Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college; OR b) Four years of work experience providing tax related support functions within a program area at the Illinois Department of Revenue.

REVENUE TAX SPECIALIST II (38572)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Range $4,439 – $6,377
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires three years of experience as a Revenue Tax Specialist I with the Illinois Department of Revenue. A Revenue Tax Specialist I requires successful completion of the Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee program, which entails 12 months of agency training, and either: a) Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college; OR b) Four years of work experience providing tax related support functions within a program area at the Illinois Department of Revenue.

REVENUE TAX SPECIALIST III (38573)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires three years of experience as a Revenue Tax Specialist lI with the Illinois Department of Revenue.
Education and Experience: A Revenue Tax Specialist II requires three years of experience as a Revenue Tax Specialist I with the Illinois Department of Revenue. A Revenue Tax Specialist I requires successful completion of the Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee Program, which entails 12 months of agency training, and either: a) Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college; OR
b) Four years of work experience providing tax related support functions within a program area at the Illinois Department of Revenue.

PUBLIC SERIVCE ADMINISTRATOR OPTION 2 (37015)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four years of college with coursework in finance or accounting.
Requires prior experience equivalent to three years of progressively responsible administrative in a tax related field (e.g., accounting, collections, finance, etc.).

REVENUE AUDITOR TRAINEE (38375)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Range $4,110 – $5,761
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, business management, business education, economics, mathematics, statistics, or finance with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting. – OR – Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting including one class in taxation or auditing and five years of work experience in the Revenue Tax Specialist Series (specifically, one year as a Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee, three years as a Revenue Tax Specialist I and one year as a Revenue Tax Specialist II).

REVENUE AUDITOR I (38371)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, business management, business education, economics, mathematics, statistics, or finance with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting. Requires successful completion of the Revenue Auditor Trainee program. – OR – Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting including one class in taxation or auditing and five years of work experience in the Revenue Tax Specialist Series (specifically, one year as a Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee, three years as a Revenue Tax Specialist I and one year as a Revenue Tax Specialist II). Requires successful completion of the Revenue Auditor Trainee program.

REVENUE AUDITOR II (38372)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, business management, business education, economics, mathematics, statistics, or finance with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting. REVENUE COMPUTER AUDIT SPECIALIST (38425)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to a bachelor’s degree, with coursework in business administration, accounting, computer science and statistics. Requires four years of professional experience in the tax auditing of books, records and documents of corporations, partnerships and individuals in the department’s Audit Bureau, including one year as a Revenue Auditor III, plus successful completion of an agency approved computer audit specialist trainee program.

REVENUE AUDIT SUPERVISOR (38369)
Bargaining Unit RC-062 Salary Range $7,903 – $12,131
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires a bachelor’s degree, including at least 12 semester hours of accounting courses. Requires four years of progressively responsible experience in the tax auditing of books, records and documents of corporations, partnerships and individuals.

PUBLIC SERVICE ADMINISTRATOR OPTION 2 (37015)
Merit Compensation Salary Range $7,660 – $11,810
Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to four years of college with coursework in finance or accounting.

OFFICE ASSISTANT (30010)

OFFICE ASSOCIATE (30015)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience. May require skill in keyboarding accurately at 45 Words Per Minute (WPM).

OFFICE COORDINATOR (30025)

OFFICE SPECIALIST (30080)

Minimum Education and Experience: Requires completion of four years of college, with major coursework in accounting, law enforcement, business administration, pre-law or related areas; up to two years of police investigative or enforcement experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the college training.
Requires three years of progressively responsible professional peace officer experience in criminal investigation, or tax evasion and tax fraud investigation, including successful completion of the Revenue Special Agent Trainee training program.

Requires three years of experience in the operation of offset presses, and peripheral equipment, such as is typically gained by Reproduction Service Technicians II.
