Account Technician I Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of two years of college and completion of an approved training course or three years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
Data Processing Assistant Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school supplemented by one year’s previous related experience such as is typically gained at the Data Processing Operator level.
Data Processing Technician Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school, supplemented by one year of related data processing experience. Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this classification.
Office Assistant Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and one year of related office experience.
Office Associate Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
Revenue Auditor Trainee

QUALIFICATION PATH A

Requires possession of a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, public administration, business management, business education, economics, mathematics, statistics, or finance with a minimum of fifteen semester hours of progressive coursework in accounting.

Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.

Revenue Special Agent Trainee (Cook County) Requires completion of four years of college with major coursework in accounting, law enforcement, business administration, pre-law, or related areas. Up to two years of police investigative or law enforcement experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the college training.
Revenue Tax Specialist Trainee

Requires either:

  1. Knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to the completion of four years of college; OR
  2. Four years of work experience providing tax related support functions within a program area at the Illinois Department of Revenue.

Qualifying state employees in the employee Upward Mobility Program, may complete combinations of specific proficiency tests and training programs leading to a certificate of proficiency in lieu of the stated requirements for this class.

Technical Advisor Advanced Program Specialist Attorney/Lawyer Requires graduation from a recognized law school.
Requires the possession of a license to practice law in Illinois.
Requires three years professional experience in the practice of law in the area of program specialization.
Technical Advisor I Attorney/Lawyer Requires graduation from a recognized law school.
Requires the possession of a license to practice law in Illinois.
Requires three years professional experience in the practice of law in the area of program specialization.
Technical Advisor II Attorney/Lawyer Requires graduation from a recognized law school.
Requires the possession of a license to practice law in Illinois.
