Where can I research or request written answers for my specific tax issues?

The Legal Information webpage provides links to the Illinois laws, proposed rules, administrative hearing decisions, and letter rulings. If you received a notice or letter from the Illinois Department of Revenue, the letter will provide you instructions and contact information for assistance. If you have a question and you do not agree with the answer you are given, you may write to the Department's Office of Legal Services and request a letter ruling.
