Where can I find information about Form RUT-75?

For information about Form RUT-75, Aircraft/Watercraft Use Tax Transaction Return, see the instructions to Form RUT-75, the Watercraft Use Tax page, the Aircraft Use Tax page, and 86 Ill. Adm. Code Parts 152 and 153. Form RUT-75 can be filed electronically using MyTax Illinois. Individuals filing electronically must enter a social security number (SSN) and have a prior year IL-1040, Individual Income Tax Return, on file with IDOR. Taxpayers filing using their SSN will also be required to provide their Prior Year Adjusted Gross Income (AGI). The information entered must match the information on file with IDOR to utilize this filing method. See Form RUT-75 Instructions for more information.

The form can also be obtained when you license and title your aircraft or watercraft at the appropriate state agency, i.e., the Illinois Department of Transportation (for aircraft) or the Illinois Department of Natural Resources (for watercraft). Do not make copies of the form prior to completing. This form has a unique transaction number that should not be duplicated. Doing so could delay processing.

If you need to correct a previously filed Form RUT-75, you must complete and file Form RUT-75-X, Amended Aircraft/Watercraft Use Tax Transaction Return.

You may access additional information by searching the entire Illinois Department of Revenue website.

If you have additional inquiries, you may submit them on the Questions, Comments, or Requests form.
